This façade is one of the most interesting examples of popular Renaissance architecture, not only in the province of Gipuzkoa itself, but also throughout the whole of the Basque Country.

The artistic trends and styles in vogue at each moment in history do not flourish solely in major building projects, such as churches, palaces and splendid mansions.

They are also reflected in more modest buildings, as in the case of this little house.

Indeed, it fully embraces the aesthetic precepts of the mid-16th century Renaissance. We are looking at a façade with two openings, a portal and a window. The portal with a semi-circular arch features two keystones decorated with rosettes. The window, framed by slender little columns, is topped by a cherub inside a round moulding or medallion.
