Bergara has revamped its Carnival by turning back the clock. This means the parade now opens with the reinstated Bear (Hartzaren desfilea). Then, on the Friday, it’s the turn of the children’s parade. A concert is held in the evening on that same day with the local brass band and the Bergara Symphony Orchestra. The cuadrillas, groups of young friends, have their moment on the Saturday. Tuesday is another day with a raft of activities, especially for children. The Witches’ Ball (Sorgin dantza) is another one of the activities recovered from the past, and what’s more, it seems to have originated here. Another hallmark of the Carnival in Bergara is the typical dessert eaten at this time called "pellak" o milk cookies.
